– 2 lbs ground beef – 1 cup breadcrumbs – 1 onion, finely chopped – 2 eggs – 1 cup milk – 2 tbsp ketchup – 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce – 1 tsp salt – ½ tsp black pepper – ½ tsp garlic powder – ½ cup ketchup (for topping)
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy removal.
In a large bowl, mix ground beef, chopped onions, breadcrumbs, and garlic powder. This forms the base of your meatloaf with great texture and flavor.
Crack the eggs into the bowl, then pour in the milk. Add ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until everything is combined.
Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it into the prepared pan. Press down slightly to help it cook evenly but don’t compact it too tightly.
Spread ketchup over the top of the meatloaf to add a sweet and tangy glaze. This also helps keep the meat moist during the baking process.
Bake for 55–65 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing to keep juices in.
Serve warm with mashed potatoes or vegetables. This hearty meatloaf makes a perfect comfort meal for family dinners or weekend leftovers.
